The open casting call for extras earlier this month yielded a significant turn out. Medill reports that more than 1500 hopefuls showed up for the event, which seems to be a good indicator at just how much interest is surrounding Divergent right now.
More than 1,500 tattooed, pierced and martial-arts trained extras lined up for more than two blocks near West 16th and South Rockwell Streets on a Saturday in early February. An open casting call for the Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment film “Divergent” had the normally quiet North Lawndale neighborhood abuzz as early as 3 a.m.
If you live in the Chicago area and want the chance to be an extra in Divergent, you’re in luck! This Saturday, February 9, Atmosphere Casting is holding an open casting call for extras.

Back in December, The Fab Life published a post professing their love for American Horror Story. In it, they also expressed their approval of Taissa Farmiga as a potential fan favorite to portray Tris Prior in the much anticipated Divergent movie adaptation. Earlier tonight, Taissa tweeted “I’ve decided I like trains.”
Time to get your fan vote on, and pick all of the fan favorites for the future movie!
We here at the Divergent fandom thought that a great way to get more traffic onto the site, and bring more fans together would be to start a weekly casting call. We will post a poll every Thursday, and give all of the fans a week to get their vote on! But first thing’s first…
Who would you like to see us cast our fan votes on next week?
We want to work our way up to the central characters.. so we thought it would be fun to throw out a few popular support characters! Tell us what you think, and remember, the poll will be open all week!
