Latest Divergent Set Photos

@MalloryWinkler on twitter took these photos from a Divergent set location today while in Chicago.  As you can see below there are five entryways in the building with a faction name at each’s head.  We can clearly see something is being concealed under the names–faction symbol perhaps?  What scene do you think we’ll see this set appear in?  Choosing ceremony, maybe?  Let us know what you think!

Divergent Ferris Wheel Scene Filming Tonight

As reported by OLV, filming for Divergent will take place tonight near the pier, and it looks like it’s going to be of a well-known scene!  OLV’s reader, Chris, shared a flyer with information about the time and place of the shoot:

Thanks to one of OLV‘s unnamed readers who shared the below photos of a Ferris wheel by the pier, which is a good indicator it will be featured in the scenes filming there, aka, the Ferris wheel scene!

The Hollywood Reporter just announced that Ashley Judd has landed the role of Tris’ mother, Natalie, in Divergent!

Ashley Judd is nabbing one of the last major roles in Divergent, Summit/Lionsgate’s adaptation of the best-selling book by Veronica Roth.
The movie began shooting earlier this week in Chicago with Neil Burger in the director’s chair. Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet and Theo James topline the movie, which is set in a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities.

Kate Winslet is Officially Jeanine Matthews!

We told you last week that Kate Winslet would be portraying Jeanine in Divergent, but it wasn’t official until yesterday.  Veronica Roth took to her blog to reveal her feelings on this casting choice:

Okay, so you may have seen/heard rumors of this already, so it’s not exactly new news, but it is Officially Official, which means that I can tell you my thoughts.

KATE WINSLET has been cast as Jeanine Matthews!

What can I say? When I found out, I was floored. I grew up watching Kate Winslet in movies, whether it was Titanic or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or The Reader, and she is an incredible actress, and I am sure that she will be extraordinary as Jeanine. I’m excited to see the complexity and depth she’ll bring to the role.

That was me containing my fangirling.

Divergent Movie Cast Round Up: Theo James to play Four, Kate Winslet Confirmed As Jeanine

What a Friday (and week)!  After the agonizing casting news drought we’ve been through, we finally get some news, and a lot of it!  Today we found out that Theo James, who you may know from Downton Abbey, has landed the role of Four!

Here’s what Veronica Roth herself had to say about James’ screen test:

“Recently I saw Theo James’ screen test with Shailene Woodley, and I was sure within seconds: this was ‘Four,’ no question. Theo is able to capture ‘Four’s’ authority and strength, as well as his depth and sensitivity. He is a perfect match for Shailene’s incredibly strong presence as Tris. I’m thrilled!”

He clearly has Roth’s seal of approval!

In addition to this, we now know that Kate Winslet is going to be Jeanine Matthews.  You probably remember back in January when Winslet was first rumored, and later confirmed, to have signed on to join the cast,  but we never knew what role she signed on to play.

As if finding out who Jeanine and Four were going to be played by wasn’t enough, we got Peter!  Earlier today Miles Teller tweeted these words:

Excited to be a part of this incredible cast & crew and reunite with my flame @shailenewoodley

To us, this seems like a pretty solid indicator that he’s going to be Peter!

Aaron Eckhart and Ray Stevenson have also been linked to the film, though what roles they’ll be playing have not been revealed yet.  Now that you know all of this, we definitely want you to weigh in on all the casting choices! After you catch your breath of course,  this a lot of news! Please share your thoughts with us in the comments sections below.

Tori, Christina and Caleb Have Been Cast in Divergent!

Big news!!  We finally have a few more Divergent cast members as The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed  Maggie Q, Zoe Kravitz and Ansel Elgort will play  Tori, Christina, and Caleb, respectively!

Maggie Q, Zoe Kravitz and Ansel Elgort have closed deals to join the cast of Divergent, Summit/Lionsgate’s adaptation of Veronica Roth’s YA novel.

Shailene Woodley is attached to star in the movie set in a future society that is divided into factions based on human traits. Neil Burger (Limitless) is directing.

Q will play Tori, a tattooed owner of a tattoo parlor who is part of the choosing ceremony that divides people into factions. She ends up helping Woodley’s character, Tris.

Kravitz will play Christina, a member of the Dauntless faction, which embodies bravery, and who becomes friends with Tris.

Elgort has nabbed the highly sought-after role of Caleb, Woodley’s twin brother who turns his back on his family, part of the Abnegation clan, to be part of the Erudite clan.
